'Fast Pavillions' voted Hypercity as one of the 100 stores in the world you simply 'have' to visit. Hypercity is India's first full range Hypermarket and so much more.
The experience is a reflection of the subcontinent itself, with numerous unpredictable moments of calm and cacophony. The planning and design cope with a maze of beliefs, language, culture, religion and diet. Thus, the in-store catering is mild vegetarian here, but spicy pork over there.
The product range is eclectic. Despite appalling road conditions, bicycles sell in vast numbers, whilst computers simply can't be made fast enough to meet the demand. The store is now something of a 'Bombay' legend (nobody in the city says Mumbai) and visitor numbers remain staggering.
