JHP has been at the forefront of the development of experience courts for nearly five years introducing retailer lead experiences to commercial centres that pushed beyond the threshold of stores. However with our involvement in a number of projects in Asia it is the activity and experience that now leads with retail being the ‘commercial By-catch’.
There are centres in China with grand galleries that bring the ‘outdoors in’ including iFLY (Indoor Sky diving), Peleton (Cycling), Castar (Dance), Orange theory (Rowing), Trackman (Golf) and our new favourite SNOW 51 (skiing). Customers ski on a cold wet snow treadmill. The offer includes Ski wear, mountain biking and sub-zero Powder rooms with real snow to test out clothes and equipment.
There are numerous other activities that bring the ‘outside in’, very often for those who are to far away from the real thing, can’t afford it or simply enjoy the social convenience. Offers often include Alienware which takes gaming out of the bedroom and in to the Arena. These courts are often heavily booked and lead hungry and thirsty participants into huge adjacent food offers.
